Safe Homes And

Communities For Everyone

Nobody Can Do Everything

But Everyone Can Do Something

Rebuilding Together is the nation’s leading nonprofit organization working to preserve affordable home ownership and revitalize communities with free home and facility repairs. Our affiliate has served Dallas/Ft. Worth’s community since 2001. In that time, we have made critical safety and accessibility improvements to more than 500 homes so our clients may continue to live in their own homes safely. Additionally, we assist nonprofit organizations and community spaces with facility maintenance and repairs so they may continue dedicating their time and resources to making a difference in our community.

Together we are strengthening the Denton, Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, and Rockwall counties to build a brighter future for North Texas. We work year round with a strong project focus in the spring and fall. Paying homage to our roots, April is typically one our busiest project months and called “National Rebuilding Month.” Each year we host one the largest volunteer days of our year, “National Rebuilding Day,” normally taking place the last Saturday in April each year. Our fall projects focus around Rebuilding For Heroes, where we emphasize our work for veteran home owners and surviving spouses.

Our programs aim to alleviate the financial burdens associated with costly repairs, allowing homeowners and their families to dwell in safe, healthy homes with peace of mind. No two homes are the same, therefore no two work scopes are identical. Repairs vary in scope, ranging from a small plumbing repair to new drywall and roof replacement. Qualified homeowners selected for our programs receive home repair services specific to their needs and our available resources. Applications are taken throughout the year and projects are completed as funding becomes available. Participant selection is based on available funding, the needs of the homeowner, and the condition of the home. However, funding is limited and not all qualified applicants will be selected. Our community is in great need and unfortunately, and our waitlist is extensive.

We always do our best to go where the needs are, so don’t let this discourage you! We encourage you to apply and continue sharing our mission with others.

Please join us as we serve our neighbors in need of a safe place to call home.

The Work We Do

Our work is funded by a variety of corporate sponsors, individual donors, organizations, and government entities. Thanks to their generosity, all home repairs and modifications are offered free of charge for qualified homeowners.

  • Safe & Healthy Homes

Safe and healthy housing is the foundation, framework, and focus of all we do at Rebuilding Together North Texas. Our Critical Home Repairs address hazards affecting the safety, health, and/or accessibility of homes owned by low-income homeowners. Utilizing a checklist addressing 25 health and safety priorities, we assess and create a scope of work unique to each home. Common home repairs and modifications include roof replacement, plumbing and electrical repairs, drywall replacement, ADA bathroom modifications, and other repairs as deemed necessary.

  • Rebuilding for Heroes

A huge portion of our efforts directly support veterans and their spouses. Learn more about our dedication to or servicemen and women through our Rebuilding for Heroes program!

  • Community Revitalization

Our core mission is helping our own neighbors. Our neighbors live and grow in our communities and we love to revitalize public spaces to improve the lives of all who share this space. These efforts can look different than a normal home repair but are equally as valuable in rebuilding lives. Some projects we focus on are public art, playground rehabilitation, community area clean-up, non-profit facilities, public centers, park benches, and schools.
